Strathcona County This Week |
On
September 13th, 2003 the Strathcona Firefighter's Honour Guard led a
parade of more
than 150 uniformed fire, police and emergency medical personnel in the
Annual Memorial March. Amongst the Guard formation were two Constables
from the Sherwood Park Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police
(R.C.M.P.). The two R.C.M.P. Constables were invited to sound the Last
Alarm in memory of R.C.M.P. Constable Ghislain (Gus) Maurice who
died in the line-of-duty on June 11, 2002 while protecting the citizens
of Strathcona County.

On
September 11th, 2004 the Strathcona Firefighter's Honour Guard led
a parade of more than 150 uniformed fire, police and emergency medical
personnel
in the Annual Memorial March. The ceremony concluded with the sounding
of the Last Alarm by RCMP Constable D. Wilkinson. The ceremony and the
Last Alarm were dedicated to the memory of RCMP Corporal James Galloway
who perished in the line-of-duty during an armed stand-off on February
28, 2004.
