More than just concepts - The Nobody Gets Left Behind (NLGB) Training Group will provide four days of realistic scenario and interactive based training for all ranks.

Thursday - September 30th
Morning Session: Thermal Imager Operations (Theory) by Captain Jake Pelk
Afternoon Session: Multi-Story/High-Rise Search Operations (Theory) by Engineer Jeff Seaton

Friday - October 1st
Full Day Session: Firefighting Operations in Multi-Story & Standpipe Equipped Buildings (theory) by District Chief Dave McGrail

Saturday - October 2nd
Morning Activity: Strathcona Fallen Fire Fighters' Memorial March from Festival Place to the Strathcona Fallen Fire Fighters' Memorial Site

Saturday - October 2nd Afternoon Session and Sunday - October 3rd Full Day Session
Hands-on-Training (H.O.T.) at Live-Fire Training Facility including six different station rotations:

  • Thermal Imaging in a Live Fire Setting;
  • Engine Company Operations for Multi-Story Occupancies with Scissor and Return Stairwell Stretches;
  • Search Rope Techniques for Centre-Hall and Centre-Core Layouts; and
  • Victim Rescue and Removal Techniques for Today’s Fireground.

REGISTRATIONS FOR THE FULL (4-DAY) SYMPOSIUM WILL BE LIMITED TO THE FIRST 120 APPLICANTS TO ENSURE OPTIMAL STUDENT-TO-INSTRUCTOR RATIO.

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION - All Full Symposium applications received prior to August 1st, 2010 will include one (1) complimentary ticket to the Just Because Comedy Night.

All proceeds support the Strathcona Fallen Fire Fighters' Memorial Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of children of fire, police, and emergency medical personnel who perish as a result of their emergency response activities.
